• Enjoy the peaceful surroundings—loon calls, crickets, gentle waves, and a crackling firepit.
• Please respect neighbors and shared spaces.
• Ensure the fire is out at the firepit before leaving it for the night.

HEATING & COOLING
• Summer: Please turn off AC and fans in bedrooms when not in use. Extra floor fans in closets.
• Winter: Keep the propane gas furnace (remote is on the living room wall next to the TV and the furnace thermostat) the same temperature as the Nest thermostat for the furnace. Keep the upstairs doors to the bedrooms and bathroom closed. This keeps the heat in the living area without overheating the bedrooms.
For sleeping, keep the Nest thermostat LOWER than the propane fireplace to avoid overheating the first-floor bedroom. Opening that bedroom door will keep it cooler.
• Propane Fireplace: If the pilot light is off, open the bottom hatch and look for the rotating switch that says on pilot off. Push it in slightly to turn it to off first, then push it in all the way in to rotate it to pilot and keep it pushed in while you wait until you hear the beeps. Keep it pushed in while igniting. If you let your finger up too soon, it will stop igniting. Once it stays lit, let your finger come up halfway to rotate the switch back to on and close the hatch. Then go to the wall mounted unit and turn it to the temperature you want. If this doesn’t work, the full instructions are in the bar drawer (upper left). And of course, we are always available by phone to answer any questions and help.
